ADDISON BAKER
He’s “The Artist”…Painting the picture through colorful sounds that men may view God more clearly…
A message heralded from a voice that stirs the soul. From the basement of baritones to the rafters of Heaven, Addison bellows out the Word in song with precision, power and presence. When he sings, all Heaven stands still. Small in stature but explosive in spirit. In a moments notice, he’s a still small voice, a tenacious tenor or a gospel squaller.
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Margrette J. Baker, and the late Pastor John L. Baker, Sr., Addison has been sent to bless the nations. Receiving prophecy of the explosive ministry that God promised him, he began singing at the age of two. With much preparation and in seeking God’s face, God elevated him as Evangelist at age seventeen. Armed with special anointing and spiritual gifts, he is called upon as a unique soulful voice and instrument of praise. Addison says, “My desire is to please and glorify God through the ministry of song.” He serves as minister, spiritual counselor, and worship leader. He is a member of Global Destiny International Center under the dynamic leadership of Bishop Thomas and Dr. Juanita Bynum Weeks, III. Displaying a gamete of local, national and international ministry, Addison also serves on the National Worship Team for the Gospel Music Work-shop of America.
THE CD PROJECT
“I Will Praise” is the title track of the CD. It is an anthem composed from a combination of ten psalms through personal testimony and triumph. “After ingesting lye…” His testimony is included on track twelve. The project portrays gladness of heart through the high powered song “Joy Cometh and speaks of God’s lovingkindness in “A Word From The Lord”. The project will be released in the Summer of 2006 on the new record label, Psalms Music Group, LLC. He exclaims, “For all His goodness and kindness, I promised Him...I WILL PRAISE…with every breath I take and with my voice lifted in thanksgiving!”
THE HIGHLIGHTS
He is a 2003 Stellar Awards Star Search Regional Finalist, 2003 1st place Male Vocalist /Soloist with Christian Artist Talent Search. At Dr. Margaret Douroux’s 17th Annual National Heritage Gospel Conference held in Los Angeles, CA, he accompanied the renowned songwriter, V. Michael McKay for the televised “Save the Boys” musical concert. He also accompanied Kevin Davidson and The Voices debut tour at St. Mark – Little Rock, AR – hosted by Mrs. Donna Creer (The Gospel Announcers Guild). Addison has opened for various artists such as Chester D. T. Baldwin, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Smokie Norful. He has ministered in song for John P. Kee and many others including the former president of the United States, President Bill Clinton.
